- Language-Focused Minilesson/Microlesson- Step 2
- I think I will do a minilesson on the analysis of certain language. I think that the interpretation of the information we read has just as must to do with how we use language and should be addresses so to help students to gain a better understanding of the language they use everyday.
- I think a we could start off with reading a passage of text that is informational in nature and then, as a class, I will ask them what they learned from the text and what they did to decipher that information.
- I would point out how to find and analyze explicit messages, inferred messages, figurative language.
- Some objective would be:
- SWBAT: extract "key points" from a given text.
- SWBAT: Identify figurative language
- SWBAT: Make inferences from the text.
